Oleg Grabar (1929-2011) was a French-born scholar of Islamic art, architecture, and archaeology. He was a professor of art history at the University of Michigan from 1954 to 1969, and at Harvard from 1969 to 1990. In 1990, he joined the faculty of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton.
