An edition of André Thomkins (1981)

André Thomkins

eternal network

André Thomkins was one of the most innovative and versatile artists of the second half of the twentieth century. Twice a participant in documenta in Kassel, he was recently rediscovered when his Lackskins returned him to the radar screen. 'Eternal Network' is the first publication to present the wide-ranging, multi-facetted work of this Lucerne-born painter, poet and object artist in all the breadth of the Thomkins estate held at the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein. The title is a quote from the artist himself, who once described his work, as also his life, as informed by just a few key strategies and structures: combination, metamorphosis and experiment.
