Beautifully illustrated collection of rare and difficult to find images by H. W. Caylor. Virtually all of his work is owned by prominent pioneer families and banks in Big Spring, Texas. They were used as collateral for loans he obtained to purchase ranch property around 1900 near Big Spring. He went bankrupt in 1912 or so and lost all. He lived out his life in town, painting to survive. Visit the State National Bank lobby in Big Spring for a little known, free treat of these works.
The Heritage Museum in Big Spring has a few of his paintings and carries this book. It is a very nice small museum with a rich history
in the area. This book is part art collection and part history lesson. A must have for anyone interested in this genre.
