Edition Notes
"A short collection of the most remarkable passages from the originall to the dissolution of the Virginia Company", p. [1-4], 20, 3rd and 4th counts, by Arthur Woodnoth, has a separate title page with imprint: London: prined [sic] by Richard Cotes for Edward Husband, at the Golden Dragon in Fleetstreet, 1651. It was also published separately (Wing W3243)
ESTC has "Copy of a petition from the governor and company of the Sommer islands" and "A short collection of the most remarkable passages from the originall to the dissolution of the Virginia Company" issued together. However, according to the John Carter Brown Library catalogue, the second work was issued separately. Cf. JCB Lib. cat., pre-1675.
Some copies contain "A mapp of Virginia discouered to ye falls" engraved by John Goddard, published by John Farrer, and sold by I. Stephenson, 1651. This map also appears in other contemporary works about Virginia, and it is impossible to determine if it was intended to be part of this work or was sold separately. Cf. ESTC.
