Mr. Campbell documents the history of the B-29 Superfortress from its inception in 1940 through its retirement after seeing action in Korea. In WWII, the B-29 was a high tech bomber in a low tech world. It was pressurized, could fly above 30,000 feet, make 3,000 mile round trips and had a gun computer on board that synchronized the guns and allowed transfer of control between gunners.

The most famous B-29 is the Enola Gay, which dropped the first atomic bomb over Japan in August, 1945.
