Réédition. Le récit de vie de l'homme qui inventa l'alphabet braille au 19e siècle en France. À la suite d'un malheureux accident, l'enfant devient aveugle. Suivant les recommandations du père Palluy, il est envoyé poursuivre ses études à l'Institut royal des jeunes aveugles de Paris. C'est là-bas que, devenu enseignant, il diffuse sa nouvelle méthode qui permettra aux aveugles de lire avec leurs doigts. -- Une collection de courtes biographies s'adressant aux lecteurs débutants.
