De tweeling Gert en Uwe Tobias (Roemenië, 1973) maken sculpturen, installaties en werken op papier. Ze zijn vooral bekend om hun kleurrijke houtsnedes waarin figuratieve en abstracte elementen gecombineerd worden tot grafische composities waarin het constructivisme en de folklore kunst elkaar ontmoeten. Centraal in hun werk staat de zoektocht naar de Roemeense culturele identiteit en hoe die in relatie staat tot de populaire vampierfilms waar hun vaderland om bekend staat.
