Spine reads: Tracts Vol II Refr: GM 6326; Eimas 1024; Norman 2121 Note: Considered the best paediatric work of the century, Underwood's treatise replaced Harris' "De morbis acutis infantum" as the standard paediatric textbook, and remained so for sixty years, going through many editions. These included a description of sclerema neonatorum ("Underwood's disease"), the first accounts of congenital heart disease in children and poliomyelitis, and an early essay on infant psychology.
