Correspondence, indentures, receipts, muster rolls, notebook, and other papers of Meshech Weare and members of the Weare (Ware) family, including his grandfather Nathaniel Weare (1631-1718), his father Nathaniel Weare (1669-1755), his uncle Peter Weare (b. 1660), and Richard Weare (d. 1777). Topics in the papers include Meshech Weare's duties with the New Hampshire militia, superior court, and council; various New Hampshire land grant matters; the 1754 Albany Congress; and Richard Weare's service with the 3rd New Hampshire Regiment during the Revolution at Crown Point and Ticonderoga, N.Y., Exeter and Hampton Falls, N.H., and Portland, Me. Correspondents include Henry Dearborn, Joseph Davenport, Silas Hodges, Nathaniel Peabody, and John Pickering.
