520 $aThis report describes a problem in the land tenure of the Cherokee Indians within North Carolina. Citing several previous boundary changes and problems in the wording of agreements and treaties, North Carolina is petitioning the federal government to have the Cherokees' title to the lands extinguished and to have them removed to a territory beyond the Mississippi River where others had been previously relocated.
