"In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war."
Since 1987, the grim, dark, and horrifying future of the 41st millennium has been presented in the form of the eponymous tabletop game produced by Games Workshop, and since then a variety of media, from more tabletop games to films to video games, have been produced. And of course, this includes books as well.
This collection is to highlight some of the Warhammer 40,000 books available on Open Library's own platform and elsewhere. These include rulebooks for various editions of the main tabletop game, standalone and series works set in the 40k galaxy, and several selections from the Horus Heresy series, which details the betrayal of the Emperor of Mankind by his formerly-most-loyal servant Horus Lupercal, and the resulting conflict that ensued, in the 31st millennium, about 10,000 years before most of the works are set.
Onwards, templar, and may the Emperor's will light your path!
Note: You can read or borrow a book if the bar underneath the cover says "Borrow" or "Read." If a book says it is "not in library" or "checked out," a copy might still be available! Click on the book's cover to see if you can borrow one of the other editions.
