An edition of Felix Tissot (2020)

Felix Tissot

Primera edición.

rench born ceramist Felix Tissot established himself in Taxco, Mexico in 1956, when the city was becoming a tourist capital, and soon became an emblematic figure in his own right. Curator Ana Elena Mallet traces Tissotœs creative path, highlighting those qualities that made him a pioneer in design, not only for the pieces he created, but also for his visionary, inclusive, collaborative production methods and a sensibility that bended the best of many worlds in an undertaking that today would be called sustainableʺ. He manufactured ceramic pieces with modern volumes and nahua artisans painted the pieces with traditional motifs, this cooperation originated his series "Fantasía". This production dynamic was part of the workshop Cerámica Taxco for over 40 years
