Novel. Wilfredo Mattos Cintrón (1940) is the creator of the pólice novel series which features the inspector Isabelo Andújar. The novels in this series include El cerro de los buitres (1984), El cuerpo bajo el puente (1989), Las dos caras de Jano (1995), Las puertas de San Juan (1997), El colapso (2000) y Desamores (2001). Several of his literary works have been awarded prizes by the Instituto de Literatura Puertorriqueña and the PEN Club. Of the police novel series the title Desamores has been made into a film. Mattos Cintrón has also published the novels Bailando al derecho y al revés (2007) and Letramuerto: asesinato en La Tertulia (2010).
