William Lloyd Garrison tells about his lecture tour. He has "grown more convinced than ever that 'this is a great country.'" Wendell Phillips Garrison and Lucy McKim were married in Dr. William Henry Furness's church in Philadelphia. William L. Garrison met Horace White of the Chicago Tribune. He was greatly impressed by Chicago's tremendous growth. Garrison thanks Henry Villard for his efforts to procure a lecture engagement in Washington for him. Unfortunately, the publication of the last three issues of the Liberator will prevent him from further lecturing for the remainder of the year. He understands that the wedding of Fanny Garrison and Henry Villard will be on January 3. Samuel Joseph May cannot legally perform the marriage ceremony in Massachusetts, so Rev. George Putnam will probably officiate. Mr. and Mrs. William Lloyd Garrison Jr. are in Germantown.
