This edition of North's Plutarch, v. 1-7, is a close reprint of the 1st edition, published in folio in 1579; v. 8 contains the additional lives which appeared as pt. 2 in the edition of 1603.

Includes "The lives of Annibal and Scipio African [attributed to Donato Acciajuoli] translated into French by Charles de la Slvce and Englished by Thomas North": v. 7. p. [293]-396, and "The comparison of Anniba with P. Scipio African", by Simon Goulart: v. 7, p. [397]-401.

Vol. 8 has title: The lives of Epaminondas, of Philip of Macedon, of Dionysivs the elder, and of Octavivs Cæsar avgvstvs: collected ovt of good avthors. Also the lives of nine excellent chieftaines of warre, taken avt of Latine from Emylivs Probvs, by S. G. S. [Simon Goulart of Senlis] by whom also are added the lives of Pivtarch and of Seneca; gathered together, disposed, and enriched as the others. And now translated into English by Sir Thomas North ...
