Harry Marten

Harry Marten was born in New York City, raised in the Bronx, educated at Harpur College and the University of California at Santa Barbara. He teaches modern and contemporary literature at Union College in Schenectady, New York, where he is the Edward E. Hale, Jr., Professor of English and Chair of the English department. He has published in The New York Times Book Review, The Washington Post Book World, The Gettysburg Review, The Ohio Review, New England Review, The Cortland Review, and others; and he has written books on Conrad Aiken and Denise Levertov. Married, with two grown sons, he lives in Niskayuna, New York, with his wife, Ginit.
